Eastern Connecticut IEA Team
About Our IEA Team
The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) is the fastest growing youth equestrian organization in the country for kids in grades 4-12. Riders will randomly draw a horse at a host barn and will show that horse with minimal to no warm-up. Class levels range from Walk/Trot to 2'6", and riders compete as both an individual and as a member of a team. Riders will accumulate points in order to qualify for post-season competition at the regional, zone, and national level. No need to own a horse! All riders are welcome, regardless if they ride with us or at a barn without an IEA team (permitted they take at least one lesson per week).
Eastern CT IEA is the team based out of Magnolia Run, headed by Coach Kathy Gorsky. Practices are held approximately twice a month in which students ride multiple different horses to practice for the real event. The team encourages excellence in both horsemanship and sportsmanship from its members. Team members also bond with each other both in and out of the arena by participating in many social events such as bowling parties, ice cream socials, pasta parties, and more. In addition, the season culminates with a formal banquet.
It's not too late to join our team for the season! Interested in learning more? Contact Coach Kathy at (860)543-0282.
